📱 iOS App Update
Unfortunately, our appeal to restore the iOS app was rejected. We’ve submitted one final appeal and are doing our best to bring it back.
If you already have the app installed, you can continue using it for now. However, for the best and most updated experience, we highly recommend switching to the web version at spicychat.ai.

⚙️ New Model Selection Experience
We’ve completely refreshed how you select and manage your AI models — making it faster, simpler, and easier to use!

✨ Here’s what’s new:

• A dedicated Model icon is now visible at the top of every chat.
• You can instantly see which model is active and switch with just one click.
  
  

• The menu now neatly separates:

  • Available Models (based on your tier)
  • Explore All Models (to see everything SpicyChat offers)

• When changing models, you’ll now need to confirm your choice with a “Set Model” button — helping prevent accidental changes.
  
  
  

This update is now live on both Web and Android.

🧩 Farewell to OpenAI API Keys
We’ve made the decision to discontinue OpenAI API key support due to low usage.
Starting November 17, you’ll no longer be able to add new API keys, and all existing ones will stop working.

 We’ve given this page a full revamp based on your feedback!

• ✨ New Title: “Your Previous Conversations” is now labelled as Recent Chats

• Better Readability Across Devices: Chat bubbles now adjust more naturally to your screen size. Whether you’re on desktop or laptop, the text should feel less cramped and easier to follow.
• Cleaner Message Alignment: All user messages now align consistently to the left, making conversations look more polished and easier to scan.
• Smoother Message Actions: When you want to remove or clone a message, the entire chat bubble is now clickable instead of just a small section, making the process much simpler.
• Consistent Chat Alignment Across Platforms: The chat alignment behaviour is now unified between Web and Native, so it feels the same no matter where you’re chatting.

• Fixed an issue where the Province/State field in checkout wouldn’t always save correctly.
• Fixed a problem where errors weren’t showing up properly if you added more than 12 tags while creating a chatbot.

🐋 DeepSeek V3 Upgraded to 16K: You’ve been asking for it, and now it’s here! DeepSeek V3’s context memory has been upgraded from 8K to 16K!

💬 New Chat Layout is Live!

The community has spoken... and we listened! The chat layout with the most votes from our recent poll is now live, bringing you a more polished and conversational style chat bubble.

🗣️ Text-to-Speech Upgrades

• Narration Toggle: You can now choose whether the narrator reads both dialogue and action, or dialogue only.

• Improved Voice Selection: You’ll now find separate buttons to preview and select a voice, plus a cleaner layout!

🌐 Preferred Chat Language

You can now choose your chat language directly from your profile settings in the mobile apps, just like on the website!

🛠️ Bug Fixes

• Old chat mixing up with new chat? Fixed.

• Voice playback continuing after switching voices? Resolved.

• PNG avatars showing with a blue background instead of transparent? That’s gone too.

• Deleting/cloning chats wasn’t auto-selecting the last message — all fixed up now.

We’ve rolled out improvements to our Memory Generation feature! Your characters will now create more detailed and meaningful memories based on your chats!

Specific Memories: Memories now capture detailed, relevant information from your conversations instead of vague summaries, making your chats feel more personal and immersive.

Chat Language Support: If you’ve selected a Preferred Chatting Language in your Profile Settings, new memories will now be generated in that language for a smoother, more localized experience.

Smarter AI Model: We’re using an upgraded model to extract what truly matters—ensuring your characters remember meaningful parts of your story.

Note: Auto memory generation (Semantic Memory) is currently available for True Supporter and I’m All In subscribers only.

Chat Layout Poll Results Are In!
A big thank you to everyone who participated in our recent layout survey! We heard you loud and clear — Option 3 was the clear winner! The team is getting to work and will be implementing this layout soon. We appreciate your input and can’t wait to roll it out for everyone.

Website Fixes & Tweaks
While native took the spotlight this week, we’ve also made a few key improvements to the web experience:

• Avatar Blur Setting Not Applying: In some cases, avatar images in chat weren’t being blurred even when users had “Blur NSFW” enabled. This is now fixed, and avatars will blur as expected.
• “Submit for Review” Popping Up Randomly: When editing a public character, the “Submit for Review” modal would sometimes appear even without changes being made. We've fixed the trigger so it only shows up when relevant.
• PNG Avatars Showing with Blue Backgrounds: Transparent PNG avatars were incorrectly rendering with a blue background instead of staying transparent. That display bug is now resolved.

Mobile Apps Updates
We’ve made a number of improvements to the native experience this week, especially in chat:

• Bot Avatar Shape: Based on user feedback, we've updated the character’s image in the ChatHero section from circular back to square.
• Better Image Viewing: Tapping on any image in a chat now opens a larger view in a proper modal.
• Bubble Avatar Zoom: Pressing on a character’s avatar in a message bubble now opens it in full view.

Bug Fixes (Mobile Apps)

• Copy Message Causing Duplication: Using the copy option in chat was sometimes duplicating messages across conversations. This is now fixed.
• Image Regeneration Flow: Regenerating an image would previously create a separate message instead of replacing the original. The image now updates properly within the same message bubble.
• Editing Long Messages Caused Scroll Jumps: When editing longer messages, the screen would jump to the end, making it hard to view or type at the intended point. We've fixed this so the cursor stays where it should.
• Low-Res Avatar in Bubbles: In some cases, chat bubble avatars were loading at lower resolution than the header image. This has been corrected.
• Tag Suggestions Not Working: Users were unable to suggest tags on public chatbot profiles. This functionality has now been restored.
• Greeting Message Uneditable: The greeting message wasn’t editable when starting a new chat. That issue has been fixed.
• Blur Setting Ignored on Zoom: NSFW images that were blurred in chat would become unblurred when zoomed into full view. They now remain blurred as expected.
• Crash Fixes: We've resolved a few issues that were causing unexpected crashes for some users.

Rollout Notes

• These changes are being rolled out to both Android and iOS.
• The Android update is already live and available to download.
• The iOS update is currently awaiting Apple’s approval. We’ll notify you once it’s released.

🌐 Translated Content Now Available on Homepage & Search!

Today, we’re excited to roll out another big update for our multilingual users—translated content is now live on the homepage and search results. Chatbots that have been translated will now appear in your preferred chatting language across both homepage and search.

To try it out:

- Head over to your Profile Settings

- Set your Preferred Chatting Language

- Return to the homepage and you’ll see translated bots in that language (if available)

This feature is currently available on web only.

🎭 Character Limit Increase For Persona

We have increased the character limit for persona to 1000 characters.

🧩 Website UI & Experience Fixes

✅ Square Avatars Are Back

 Just like the Native, we’ve brought back square profile images in chat for better character visibility—just as you requested!

✅ Image Generation Stability

 Fixed an issue where images in conversation would fail on the resubmit.

✅ “Back” Navigation Now Remembers Sort Settings

 On the My Chatbots page, your sorting selection will now be preserved when navigating back.

✅ Greeting/Personality Field Display Fix

 On the chatbot profile page, we’ve cleaned up the “Show More/Less” toggle, so it only appears when there’s actually more to show.

✅ Tags Suggestion Fixed

 Suggest tag on public chatbots feature is now fixed and working as expected.

✅ Tag suggestion Modal Display

 On mobile web, tag suggestion modal now appear fully on screen—no more cut-off content.

✅ Message Edit Button Visibility

 Fixed a UI issue where the Save button was hard to see when editing messages.

✅ Tag Search Field Visibility (Light Mode)

 Typed text in the tag search bar is now clearly visible in light theme.

Negative Prompt: Want to avoid certain things in your images? Add a negative prompt to help guide the model away from unwanted elements.

These options give you more creative control to generate images closer to your vision.

🏷️ Smart Tag Suggestions Are Live

We’ve added AI-powered tag suggestions on the character creation page. No need to scroll endlessly—our system will automatically recommend the most relevant tags for your character, making creation faster and content more discoverable.

We're excited to announce another new feature to help our creators. With the Character Creation Wizard, you can auto-generate all character creation fields just by entering a name and title. Then, generate fields like persona, greeting, and more with a single click. This is built to help you bring amazing bots to life faster and easier!

📱 Native App Updates

Over the past week, we’ve gradually rolled out a performance-focused update to our native apps. Along with backend improvements, we’ve addressed several issues:

✅ Fixed: App sometimes freezing when starting new chats

✅ Fixed: White screen issue when tapping the Chat Menu icon

✅ Fixed: NSFW bots not being blurred properly on Android

✅ Fixed: Chatbot greeting and personality fields not properly expandable to view the whole text
